The Genesys system
is an artificial intelligence-based Computer-Aided Process Planning (CAPP)
system designed for the Boeing Fabrication Division Sheet Metal Center.
CAPP is the process of assisting a manufacturing engineer in converting
product requirements (engineering drawings, specifications, bills-of-material
and process standards) into production instructions (detailed process plan)
to be used on the factory floor to process raw materials into the desired
airplane part. The Genesys Management Subsystem (GMS) and Conversion Management
System (CMS) are customized versions of the Boeing Product and Process
Document Management (PPDM) commercial software product, providing sophisticated
version control, tracking and management of engineering plans and documents
as they flow through various stages of development and review. |

The first OPD step involved evaluating and recommending

of a fully populated DFD and process descriptions.

Subsequent steps followed the OPD derived design
rules, analyzing the DRS and factoring and partitioning the functionality
into design units, where each design unit had the same operating characteristics,
and each design unit generally corresponded directly to a program.

Completed three Tandem self-paced NSSQL classes.

Performed detailed state transition analysis
on the store order entities, showing all possible states and transitions
that an order and its related entities could go through.

shared by COM and the DCMCS warehouse system.
